Merit Badge Awards

Check out the Merit Badge Winners

Character and conduct outside the karate class are an important part of the students development in the karate grading system.

The merit badge scheme requires the children to behave well at home and school and to help out with household chores for a period of months depending on which badge is being attained.  Signatures must be gained from the karate instructor, a teacher and a parent at the start of the scheme and then again after the required time period to show that they have accomplished the tasks.  The children must also submit drawings of the human skeleton showing various anatomical areas and explanations of movements.

Without Bronze, Silver, or Gold merit awards children cannot attempt certain exams regardless of physical ability.
